Charles “Chuck” E. McDevitt, 64 of Toledo, OH, died Friday, December 27, 2013, in The Toledo Hospital . Born January 25, 1949 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Charles and Virginia (Kessler) McDevitt. A 1967 graduate of Springfield High School / Penta County High School, He was employed as a mechanical engineer for Toledo Engineering for 22 years, retiring in 2002. He then worked for the City of Toledo, Collins Park Water Treatment Plant.
Chuck was an avid reader and also enjoyed horseback riding, golfing, drag racing and was also an advocate for the Toledo Fair Housing Center.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Amanda (Patrick Brady) McDevitt. Brother, James (Vicky Buska) McDevitt. Sister, Karen (Charles) Grundy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2-7 pm Monday, December 30, 2013, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Associations.
